What is Fluoride?
Fluoride is a natural mineral commonly used in dentistry. Found in soil, air, water and even some foods, fluoride can also help rebuild the minerals in the enamel of your teeth to prevent and sometimes even reverse tooth decay.
Professional Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride treatments at your dentist office have a high concentration of fluoride compared to over-the-counter toothpastes and products.
Your dentist may provide professional fluoride treatments in the form of a rinse, foam, gel or varnish.
These treatments generally only take a few minutes at your dentist's office. You may just be asked to avoid eating or drinking for 30 minutes afterward so it can fully absorb.
