Dental Emergencies

The following conditions are dental emergencies, and should be treated as soon as possible.

  • Lost Fillings or Crowns

If you have a lost or broken crown or filling, try to locate it, and if possible, rinse it off and place it back on the tooth. Call our office right away to let us know you need an appointment.

  • Broken or Chipped Teeth

If you have a broken or chipped tooth, try to locate the missing piece if you can, because your dentist may be able to reattach it. Whether you can find it or not, please call our office as soon as possible to get it fixed.

  • Knocked-Out Teeth

If you have a knocked-out tooth, try to find the tooth if you can, and re-insert it in the socket (be sure it is free of debris first). Bite down on the tooth gently but firmly.

If you are unable to replace the tooth in the socket, keep it moist by holding it in your mouth, or placing it in a glass of milk, until you can get to our office.

Call our office as soon as possible. The sooner you see the dentist, the more likely it is that they may be able to save the tooth.

  • Severe Swelling

If you are experiencing severe swelling in your mouth, face or neck, and if the swelling causes difficulty swallowing or breathing, please call our office as soon as possible. We will help determine what is causing the swelling and the best way to treat it.
