Our Dentists

Deborah Zokol, DMD

Dr. Deborah Zokol graduated from the faculty of Dentistry at the University of British Columbia in 1991. After graduation she practiced in Vancouver with her father and brother at their dental group for two years. Loving the Okanagan area, she relocated here and spent 25 years in Kelowna and Vernon. In June of 2016, Dr. Zokol joined the Dr. Steve Johnson Dental Group. In her spare time Dr. Zokol can be found in the kitchen cooking incredible meals or on the dance floor perfecting her West Coast swing moves.
Dr. Rafael Marroquin

General Dentist

Dr. Rafael Marroquin obtained his dental surgery degree in El Salvador in 2009. He continued his education by receiving his post grad in orthodontics in 2012. Dr. Marroquin practiced for a number of years in El Salvador before moving to Toronto and began taking the steps to the National Dental Examination board, which resulted in his acceptance into Dalhousie University for the International Dental program in 2015. Dr. Marroquin graduated from Dalhousie University in 2017 with a degree in dental surgery. Dr. Rafael Marroquin moved out west in the spring of 2017 and began practicing with the Dr. Steve Johnson Dental Group in June of 2017. His wife has joined him here in the Okanagan and they have embraced the Kelowna lifestyle. Dr. Marroquin has taken on the challenge of learning to ski and snowboard and they enjoy the sunny weather, biking, and trying out new restaurants and wineries.
Dr. Steve Johnson

General Dentist

Dr. Steve Johnson obtained his degree in dentistry from the University of Liverpool in 1982. After which he worked in the Maxio-Facial Facility in The Royal Liverpool Hospital. In September 1983, Dr. Johnson started working for the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador with the Grenfell Regional Health Authority. This organization provided health services to outlying communities in Northern Newfoundland and Southern Labrador. In this capacity, his scope of practice ranged from general dentistry to major facial trauma and reconstruction. In early 1985, Dr. Johnson moved to the St. Johns area of Newfoundland where he owned and operated two private dental clinics, one of which was in Ferryland and the other in Trepassey. Dr. Johnson moved to Kelowna to open his practice in July 1987, and completed his National Dental Examination Board Certification. Dr. Johnson and his wife, Kathryn, have four sons and have been long-time resident of Kelowna.
